The European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee will host the 2019 European Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference on\u00a0March 6 and 7<\/strong>\u00a0in Brussels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The 2019 conference will build on the success of the 2018 event, which was titled\u00a0Delivering on the Circular Economy \u2013 What’s next?<\/a><\/em>. It gathered 650 participants on Day 1 and 350 on Day 2. The first day provided an avenue for high-level political discussion, in particular on the implementation of Circular Economy Action Plan, the second day allowed for the gathering ofperspectives from civil society organisations<\/a>\u00a0present.<\/p>\n Day 1<\/strong>, to be hosted by the Europan Commission, will explore the action plan as a successful framework for the transition, while discussing policies to capitalise on the current global momentum. It will also widen the discussion to consider the circular economy as an enabler to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.<\/p>\n Day 2<\/strong>\u00a0will be hosted by the EESC and is being prepared jointly with the Coordination Group members of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform. This day will feature eight different\u00a0participatory workshops,\u00a0<\/strong>whose purpose is to share successes and identify new challenges.<\/p>\n
